About Me
Born in Athens on March 5, 1946, Nikos Ignatiadis trained at the Conservatory of Athens and began his career as a successful classical pianist. By 1967, he had expanded into arranging and composing, eventually forming his own 30-piece orchestra in 1975. With it, he produced weekly TV shows blending classical, jazz, and popular music for Greek television. In the 1980s, his compositions gained wide acclaim. Dutch singer Benny Neyman turned Nikos’s song into the Dutch No. 1 hit “Waarom Fluister Ik Je Naam Nog” in 1985, prompting Nikos to move to the Netherlands in 1987. His songs were later recorded by global artists like Julio Iglesias, Nana Mouskouri, Demis Roussos, and Engelbert Humperdinck. He also released several successful solo albums through CNR Records. After a personal hiatus, Nikos returned to Greece in 2004 and resumed recording in 2007 with albums like Inspiration, The Most Beautiful & Romantic Melodies, and Greek Feelings. His music continues to resonate internationally, reflecting a lifelong dedication to melody and emotion.
